I don't know much of the berseker mod even when i had in the past other than is based on the Quake2xp sourceport. But in any case i would recommend you to give yamagi quake II a try, in my opinion is the best sourceport, its features are giving you the most close to default experience but supporting widescreen resolutions like 1080p or higher chance of OGG music among other things. Again, i don't know much about that berserker mod other that has the the most advance graphical effects but to my taste isn't worth it. But you already downloaded so the obvious thing to do is ckeck info for both the berserker and quake2xp on google and find any instructions on the author's page.

Where To Get Berserker Mod

I just started playing Quake 2 (again) with the Berserker mod and the same thing was happening to me on 1920 x 1080 resolution with every weapon even in the normal game, so i made a thread about it [quakegate.ru] on their forum. For Quake 2 I can't recommend anything other than Quake 2 Evolved. I have the Berserker mod installed and boy does it look great.
